Go Givers - April 26th, 2017

One of our core values at Twisted Goods is to be a company based around giving. We give extraordinary gifts. We give exceptional customer service. We give gift-suggestions, laughs, smiles, hugs, and hopefully we give an in-store experience that makes you want to come back for more.

Giving is a huge part of our identity, and that is why we were over the moon on April 26th to have the opportunity for our management team to give back to our community by volunteering at the Saskatoon Foodbank & Learning Centre for the day.

The Saskatoon Foodbank and Learning Centre is an organization committed to ensuring a food secure community where all people have access to safe, affordable, and nutritious food. They hold core values of respect, innovation,  collaboration, and compassion. In 2016 alone they provided 78,710 food hampers for those in need, and were able to help 215,895 individuals.

The Foodbank relies on volunteers. Infact, they require 1500 hours of volunteer work each month to accomplish their goals. It was an honour to partner with the Foodbank even for just a short time to see what good work they are doing, and come along side them in their mission.

Our group had the opportunity to serve in three areas: food prep, client services, and the clothing depot. Here are some highlight from our staff on their experiences:
